[English] From today on, the token Optimism (OP) is available on the Bitvavo platform for trading and withdrawals.

Optimism (OP) is a low-cost and lightning-fast second layer (L2) for the Ethereum blockchain, based on optimistic roll-up technology. Optimism released its governance token on 31 May 2022. Since Optimism’s technology can follow most of Ethereum’s logic, all Ethereum-based smart contracts can be deployed on Optimism to take advantage of the platform's higher transaction speed and cheaper gas fees. The Optimism Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to growing the Optimism Collective. It is said that until their project is fully decentralised, they will be donating all profits towards scaling and sustaining public goods. Read more about Optimism.

Aangezien de technologie van Optimism het meeste van Ethereum's logica kan volgen, kunnen alle op Ethereum gebaseerde smart contracts worden ingezet op Optimism, met als voordeel hogere transactiesnelheden en goedkopere transactiekosten van het platform. De Optimism Fundatie is een non-profit organisatie gewijd aan het laten groeien van het Optimism Collective.
