1.G20 to Review Crypto Regulation Framework This Week
G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors will review the 100-page Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF)—along with suggested amendments to the group’s Common Reporting Standard (CRS)—at their next meeting, which will occur this Wednesday and Thursday in Washington, D.C.
2.What Happened With The $570 Million Binance (BNB) Hack? And What Does It Really Mean For Crypto Investors?
There was another major hack in the crypto space as the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume had a major issue on the network. Hackers drained (created, actually) 2 million BNB, the native token of the Binance network, out of thin air due to a vulnerability that resulted in the hack of an estimated $570 million.
3.Record Number of Brazilian Companies Bought Crypto in August
For the first time in a single month, more than 12,000 Brazilian companies made crypto purchases in August, the South American country's tax authority, Receita Federal, has reported.
4.DeGods removes NFT royalties, predicts all marketplaces will move to 0% model
Popular Solana NFT project DeGods has switched to a 0% royalty model, meaning it will no longer earn royalties on the sales of its NFTs. DeGods said that while it still believed that royalties are an “incredible use case” for NFTs and that it will support creators that want to find solutions to enforce them, this is the best decision for its business at this time.
5.Portugal Plans to Impose 28% Tax on Crypto Gains
The Portuguese government has proposed a new cryptocurrency tax policy that would take effect as part of its 2023 national budget, according to a government-issued report published Monday. Within the nearly 450-page macroeconomic strategy and fiscal policy report, a small section states that the Portuguese government will impose a 28% capital gains tax on cryptocurrency gains made within one year. However, gains realized after one year of holding the crypto assets will be exempt from such a tax.

2.Wat gebeurde er met de Binance (BNB) hack van $570 miljoen? En wat betekent het voor cryptobeleggers?
Er was weer een grote hack in de crypto industrie. 's Werelds grootste crypto exchange qua handelsvolume had een groot probleem op het netwerk. Hackers haalden 2 miljoen BNB (de native token van het Binance netwerk) uit de lucht. De hack kon uitgevoerd worden vanwege een zwak punt in het netwerk, waardoor ongeveer 570 miljoen dollar gestolen werd.

5.Portugal wil 28% belasting heffen op winst uit crypto
De Portugese regering heeft een nieuw belastingbeleid voor crypto voorgesteld. Deze regeling is onderdeel van de nationale begroting voor 2023, volgens een rapport van de regering dat maandag is gepubliceerd. In het rapport over de macro-economische strategie en het fiscaal beleid, staat dat de Portugese regering vermogenswinstbelasting van 28% gaat heffen op winst uit crypto die binnen een jaar wordt verdiend. Winst die na één jaar bezit van crypto wordt gerealiseerd, is vrijgesteld van deze belasting.
